Large Academic Medical Organization
Cleveland, OH |- Educational Institution
Challenge
This large nonprofit academic medical organization was ready to expand its research facilities by 45,000 square feet to grow their renowned capabilities in scientific discovery and advancement. Through unique relationships with public and private organizations, it performs breakthrough research that improves patient care and saves lives.
Solution
This venture underscores an unwavering commitment to innovation, highlighted by the introduction of cutting-edge laboratories. The newly remodeled lab space integrates 19 Protector® XStream® Fume Hoods where scientists work safely and efficiently. The addition of Floor-Mounted Fume Hoods added more than 60% to the center’s capacity. Research programs at this facility include computational life sciences, immunotherapy, immuno-oncology, cell therapy, and vaccine development.
This project also included the establishment of a new biosafety level (BSL) 3 laboratory dedicated to the investigation of infectious pathogens. The safe development of diagnostics, treatments and vaccines to combat infectious diseases is at the heart of their scientists’ work. Future plans include the construction of two more research buildings totaling nearly 300,000 square feet within the next year.
